Job Description

Interns will contribute to existing research projects focused on DNA marker
technologies and molecular breeding. Working closely with expert breeders and researchers, the
selected candidates will:

  • Design and implement molecular breeding experiments.
  • Review scientific publications to stay updated on DNA marker innovations.
  • Capture, analyse, and interpret genetic data.
  • Compile and contribute to research progress reports.
  • Mentor postgraduate students and support laboratory teams.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and contribute to technology dissemination.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE/OHS policies and HR procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements
To qualify, candidates must have:

  • An MSc in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Plant Breeding, or Genetics.
  • Strong background in molecular biology and plant molecular markers.
  • Experience using genetic data analysis tools.
  • Excellent data collection, management, and analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and project planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
