To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Successfully completed Matric and two years of theoretical training toward a National Diploma in:
- Biotechnology
- Microbiology
- Environmental Sciences
- Analytical Chemistry
Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID Document.
Must be under the age of 35 in accordance with the National Skills Development Strategy (NSDS).
Must not have previously participated in any experiential learning programme.
Must require this training to complete the requirements for the National Diploma.
