Before diving into the application, here are some important notes to keep in mind:

- Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
- Duration: 12 Months (Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm)
- Division: GBS Finance Unit
- Minimum Requirement: Finance-related Degree or Diploma
- Eligibility: South African citizens aged 18–35, residing in KZN
What the Internship Offers
The GBS Finance Internship is designed to give you hands-on exposure to the world of finance and accounting. You won’t just observe — you’ll contribute meaningfully to financial operations that keep the business running smoothly.
As a Finance Intern, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Bookkeepers with creditor functions, supplier reconciliations, and VAT compliance.
- Assisting with month-end journals, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Helping the Procurement team with cost approvals and documentation.
- Managing Canteen cash-ups and ensuring accurate cash reporting.
- Balancing intercompany accounts and supporting internal/external audits.
- Contributing to tax reconciliations including VAT, EMP, and Income Tax.
- Supporting revenue processes, such as invoicing and variance analysis.
- Performing general finance administration, including stock counts, asset management, and filing.
To qualify, you must have:
- A 3-year Diploma or Degree in Finance (from a recognized public tertiary institution).
- Proficiency in Excel and Sage software.
- Understanding of VAT, IFRS, and SARS regulations.
- Knowledge of audit and reconciliation processes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Be a South African citizen aged 18–35, residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Be currently unemployed and not participating in another internship or learnership.
- Have no previous SETA or Government internship experience.
